I'm interested in real stories where a self defense non lethal weapon, such as stun gun or pepper spray actually prevented crime or saved a life. Does anybody have a story they would like to share?

If we did, it wouldn't be with products with such poor ergonomics as that fake lipstick OC spray. I wouldn't wanna try finding the right way to aim that thing while I'm being jumped. If you're serious about WSD, and not just making money, do a little research and re-think your product line.

OC is a good option. However, due to the wacky laws here, I mainly train students in the use of the tactical folder rather than OC. One has successfully used the folder to deter a serious attack at a highway gas stop.

I've only defended my self using my hands,

I had a guy (from a gang of youths)) run up behind me and try to clobber me over the head with an empty bottle...

I saw he was coming (because I was keeping an eye-out on the youths incase they attacked...) and turned round quickly just as he got in range to hit me and strong blocked his attacking arm. He kinda paused and looked at me, then he ran away with his tail in-between his legs.

I do not know if displaying/using a weapon would have helped or made him attack more enthusiastically?(I don't think that is a good word, what would be a better one?).

Possessing a weapon is kinda like saying "yeh ok, I want a fight too, bring it on".
However to a cowardly thief it may deter...

Probably If I was a rapist & had gone to the effort to suss out a juicy target I would probably take my chances against pepperspray or a stun-gun though, a rape alarm I would probably run from.
