| Anticipating a possible fight that could break out any day, I've been brushing up on some old karate techniques that I learned years and years ago. And (I know this sounds lame) I've analyzed every possible attack he might throw on me, and thought a lot about how I would react. That way, even though I hardly remember a lick of martial arts, I'll still be somewhat prepared. However, one thing they never taught us was what to do if the attacker decides to just charge at you. I highly doubt that in that situation, a simple front kick would overpower a man pummeling you at full force. |

What do you mean by "charge at"? Tackle? Wild haymaker? Just running toward you? You might want to look into some of the more functional contemporary systems that address more realistic street attacks, such as Blauer Tactical (particularly his video on Rage Attacks) and ISR Matrix. I mean, if you don't know what you'd do if a guy is charging at you, what the hell use is the system you learned? _________________ blowjoblessons@gmail.com

Learning how to avoid the fight in the first place is a better system of self-defense. _________________ Self-Defense Blog | Warrior Forums |
