| For what i am about to write you may think i am a bit of a woose, but i am not. I've had arthritis for a long time, but ignored it as it wasn't too bad. Then about 15 years ago i was attacked by a 'muscle man' and finally thrown down some stairs, his friends stood and watched. My head was hit against the wall so hard that for years i have had occaisional problems with speach, muddling words etc and other things. I never reported it (being stupid) or went to the hosiptal (which my doctor was horrified about when he found out) and just licked my wounds and dealt with it. My arthritis took off after this and i was on crutches for years. My confidence took a major slide to the bottom of the barrel and below and the feeling of being vunerable was unbelievable. Two years ago i started fighting back against the arthritis and now use a walking stick. Earlier last year i started karate. It is difficult and i do not cut corners nor am i treated any differently than the other students which i appreaciate. My confidence had started to go up, and i am trying to find out about a bit more self-defence. What i am doing has helped my arthritis and me. Any serious ideas to do with learning self-defence (confidence) will be gratefully accepted. (It's not only the old who have arthritis) Well, thank you for reading. |
