Well women's self defense is really a lot like mens. Everyone has about the same weakness and so forth. Its just others are built more than others so you have to find ways around that.

I don't know, Rebecka, your site looks like a pretty full and professional ad site to me...do you really want our help?

Are you planning to post here much?

Overall, I thought the site looked very well done and I was SO glad I didn't see anything advocating women fall to the ground and start kicking as a part of "self defense for women."

I was studying to be an instructor for a group that advocated that technique and I never liked it (the theory is that women have weaker upper-body strength and less mass than men, therefore falling to the ground and kicking is stronger for a woman than standing up and fighting - which is a load of crap). I was hoping to turn them around and explain that it's better to stay mobile and on your feet than purposely fall to the ground and try to kick. Perhaps it's fortunate that it didn't happen.

The only part that made me scratch my head was the stuff on blow guns, throwing knives, and sap gloves for self defense. I really don't see women (or men for that matter) carrying those items on their person for self defense. The other items listed under Defense Tools are, for the most part, more pragmatic and effective.

Just for your information:

Under "Top Tips for Women's Self Defense" at the end you spelled it "Marshal Arts" instead of "Martial Arts."

Under the title "Defense Tips for Women Practicing Dojo," I think you meant "Judo" instead of "Dojo" because you mention it in the article.

Still a good page. I wish I had something as comprehensive online right now!

It would also be better if you also post some picture related to your article explaining some sample defense position.

Start the escape with your hands on his shoulders and lock out your elbows to give you something to push against and to allow you to begin moving your body out from under him, getting some room to put your feet on his hips. Then, you can use your legs to control his hips, thereby preventing penetration and also to mechanically move him backwards. As you move him backwards, you gain the space necessary to kick him in the stomach, chest and face with alternating kicks. From the starting position of this scenario, is it very easy to simply lift your hands off his shoulders and place your palms on the side of his face. Your thumbs are now directly over his eyes. Press in and gouge!

It looks to me like to me that your website is well planned with a lot of information for us women in ways of defending ourselves. As I have been attacked myself before I know how scary it can be to get back out there with confidence and knowledge I need to know to defend myself. The use of pepper sprays and TASERS is one thing I am trying to figure out myself. I have had to use pepper spray before. I think the only reason it was helpful to me was that I was right at my car with my keys in my hands and it gave me that one second that needed to get in my car. But what if I would have needed to run? He could have easily caught me, because there is proof all over the internet that the attacker can still come at you, and if they are on drugs or alcohol it can be almost ineffective completely.
That is why I have decided to get one of those TASER C2. And I can give you a few more tidbits that I learned from butler security supply website and with talking directly to him for advice. The facts are TASER do not kill, if someone is injured it is because of when they drop to the ground. I have to have a criminal background check on me to activate it. But that makes me feel good that they at least are trying to keep them out of the "bad guy's" hands. And you can put in there that there is a confetti that is dropped there when you use it for police records to help if you have to drop it and run. And if you so have to drop it they will replace it for free all you have to do is give them the police report. Oh and the running away part, that is because it will continue to tase for 30 seconds. That is what made me think cause I have always wondered about that one time, what if I was not close to my car yet. I don't think that just the pepper spray would have prevented me from getting hurt raped or even killed by this person if I would have had to try to run
I have touched on some of the reasons I want a TASER in addition to my pepper spray. You could contact him to help with more fact vs fiction on Tasers and other self defense ideas. it is www.butlersecuritysupply.com
He helped me make the right decision for me and maybe you guys can help each other educate the public about all the different options that we have out there, especially for us women. Not all of us know how to Karate chop someone

Surprised

OC works on intoxicated people because it does not rely on pain--rather, it's an inflammatory agent that makes the BG less effective as a fighter/attacker because he can't see/breathe well.

Tactically, OC and Tasers have relative advantages and disadvantages. One important practical difference is that Tasers are incredibly expensive to train with (if I recall, each discharge of a cartridge costs several hundred dollars), and unless you train realistically with a weapon, you can't know that you will be able to use it effectively in a real situation.
