Sorry,

can't agree.

Attacks too wide and slow to train a usefull response. Even the 'fast' attack at about 2:17 the attacker never rushes in though it looks like he is. His front foot barely moves 12" in the whole attack. A true rush slams you into the wall behind you...

Dojo defences against dojo attacks. <sigh>

I liked some of the moves that were taught (elbows, head control, ground skills), but I'm afraid Ted is right. The initial attacks were too slow and "soft" to begin with. There was no emotion or viciousness behind them, and it was just one slow strike, allowing time for the "good guy" to do his pre-rehearsed counter to the attack he knew was coming.

Go online and look at videos taken of real street fights and knife attacks. Nobody attacks the way they showed in that demonstration. I haven't seen it all, but I've never seen anybody with technique that clean on the street...ever. That's because real fights are never that simple.

That doesn't mean the entire system or technique is worthless, they just have to have more realistic drills and figure out what will really work and what won't.
