Hi,

This is the what happened. A person got sent to jail because of me and tumors have always been flaring how much he wants to go after me and my friend when he gets out. He already had been in trouble and is serving at a county jail for what he got in trouble for, it was a 3rd degree burglary. He was on prbation for some other crime, I happened to be with him but not with him when he did the crime and he thinks that I am the reason he got in sent to jail. He just started serving for the burglary in 3rd degree about 2 months ago from when he got in trouble because of me. I've already been threatened by his cousin to be shot because he had just got of jail for shooting up a car and was bragging about it trying to intimidate me. The best way to defend yourself is to avoid an incident. Have you tried explaining yourself to him?

Depending on his character and your relation to him, you could try writing him a simple letter explaining why you think you're not responsible for him going to jail and also expresses that you are sorry he went to jail. You'd be surprised how many people respond well to politeness.

You could also go to the police, if you receive threats. Unfortunately, police will do little until a crime has already occurred.

Try to talk to him but take precaution for your own safety. Whether that be concealed to carry, baton, pepper spray, stun gun or whatever you feel most comfortable with.
Being prior military and law enforcement, the law can only do so much. Always be aware of your surroundings and have a mind set of "what if".

Whenever you are threatened you should go to a police station and make a report of it. They probably won't do anything, but having it on record that you were threatened will help if you end up defending yourself later and then have to face criminal or civil charges.

You should definitely go to the police. There are crazy people out there. It does not matter what skills you have if you are up against a gun.
