I personally dislike government oversight, but I'm not too concerned. I mean you have to do similar things to register a house. If your using the gun for honest purposes, then such regulation is only a hassle.

Anti-gunners have already taken control in Australia. All this does is take the guns away from law abiding gun owners. John Howard has taken away our right to own and keep guns for self defence. Do not let the anti-gunners take control of gun policy in the US for it is one of the last bastions for gun owners rights in the world. To the law-abiding, gun owning citizens of the US, "Keep on fighting hard and protect your Second Amendment rights!". To the law-abiding, gun owning citizens of Australia, "Vote Johnny Howard out of office in the coming election later this year!"

I agree, but I also think there is more important things to rally for. In other words, gun rights aren't the only rights to protect. For example, I'd rather have free speech and drug legalization than have gun legalization.

Scott, they call them "gun nuts" for a reason. The gun becomes an integral part of their identity.
